BRIDAL LOOK #9

REI

LOOK #9 REI

Rei is a due homage to a great revulutionary fashion mind: Rei Kawakubo, the Commes de Garçons creator. Indeed, we could consider this bridal look as the first example of conceptual bridal design. Because this dress designed as a pure rectangle of cady crepe stretch, spotless and enigmatic like a monolithic stone, is animated by two tricks top and bottom the dress in order to deconstruct the materic linearity and to break up the dress geometry. At the top: a chocker of little funny white studs, sewn over 4-mm crinoline micro-ribbon “ton sur ton”, wraps the dress around the neck; at the bottom: a smart clear cut, like Fontana’s cut-off paintings, chops the fabric liberating the legs from the matter constrains and lends great seduction power to the outfit.

The half nacked back is caressed by two kissing wings and finally a minimal train reminds us that this is still a bridal dress
Special dress for fearless women, in case of formal ceremonies, either religious and civil, a pair of thin georgette trousers can temporarily mitigate the look’s boldness, waiting for the evening wedding party when it can be worn in its pure essential splendor. No accessories foreseen, because Rei need nothing, but its conceptual self-sufficient beauty.
